Gassed (guitar)

Years active: 2025 – Present

How did you first get into music, and which band became your first real obsession? I first got into extreme music with my friends in middle school after discovering Cattle Decapitation’s Forced Gender Reassignment music video. I was inspired by how extreme it was to me at the time and how this insane sounding band had such a dedicated cult following to persistently reload the video back to YouTube and odd sites knowing it’ll just get deleted again. I then delved deeper into extreme music, discovering black metal and crust punk which I still listen to today.

How did you discover HC, what pulled you in, and which band served as your gateway? I had a best friend in high school who introduced me to Expire, and Code Orange Kids and we would meet up after school almost every day trying to replicate what was going on those band’s records with what music equipment we could afford at the time. I quickly discovered that hardcore was one of the most fun genres to play.

Biggest musical influence? Dragged Into Sunlight. The use of old school Matamps for extreme sounds is very cool and unique and something I bring to my guitar tones. No matter what the backline is, I bring my Green Matamp to every Gassed show.

Describe your sound in 3 words. Raw, Loud, Relentless

“Gassed is excited to be recording our EP with the legendary Don Fury known for seminal records by Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, and Dropdead. We’re fired up, and we’re aiming to capture that same hostility.”
